Warning Of A Terrorist Attack At Rock Am Ring 2017 Caused By Spelling Mistake

On the weekend of June 2-4, Rock am Ring was interrupted and the festival grounds in Southern Germany were temporarily evacuated due to a possible terrorist threat.

New information has surfaced according to which the names of the two people suspicious of causing said threat weren’t on the list of staff members due to a simple spelling mistake. The names on that list instead sounded similar, but were spelled differently.

In order to avoid mistakes like that in the future, both the promoter and the police have decided to check and verify every name and identity of the entire festival staff (about 5000 people) in the future, not only the ones of the security staff, which is what had been done up to this point.
