Starset Has Their Own Society, Find Out What It’s About Here

The so-called Starset Society has a very important task.
In a recent interview with frontman Dustin Bates we chatted with him about this society.
Here’s what he said about it:
“It’s a group dedicated to promoting things of a scientific nature that aren’t in the
public eye. One of the focusses of the group right now is looking at technology and how it affects our
lives. Politically, socially and economically and in the future and how it might change things like our
privacy. What does a cell phone for instance look like in 35 years and how much more integrated is
that? We can’t begin to imagine the amazing possibilities of it but we can also see the negative
outcomes of it. The erosion of our own privacy and security and the group tries to look at things in a
near future window that people might not be thinking about and it’s important because technology
is increasing at an exponential rate and if people aren’t aware of that ahead of time, they’ll be
playing catch up. Just like they did with cell phones, people didn’t have the imagination to realize
that their data was being filtered and listened to and if we don’t think about these things ahead of
time it’s too late and they’re already established and it’s much harder to fix things once they’re being
established then think about it ahead of time and avoid it.”
