President Obama Signs Act That Bans Bots Used To Purchase Tickets

“The ‘Better Online Ticket Sales Act of 2016’ or the ‘BOTS Act of 2016,’ which prohibits the circumvention of control measures used by Internet ticket sellers to ensure equitable consumer access to tickets for certain events.”
That is what it says in the legislation that President Obama signed earlier this week!
From now on, it’s a federal offense to use bots to purchase tickets online.
Many companies use bots like these to purchase thousands of tickets with the sole purpose of reselling them for huge profits.
It’s something that the entire world is dealing with.
In the UK, You Me At Six frontman Josh Franceschi is also making waves in an attempt to make something similar to this happen in the UK aswell.
Let’s hope that fans from the bands can acquire tickets more easily in the future all across the United States of America.
