Metallica Host Competition For Local Bands To Be Support Act For Upcoming Tour

Metallica are touring the U.S. this summer as part of their ‘Hardwired… To Self-Destruct’ promotion and are bringing Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira with them for these shows. However, on a few shows, there’s only one of those three bands available to support Metallica and that’s a bit too slim, Metallica think.
The shows in question are these:
May 19 – Foxborough, MA – Gillette Stadium (also with Volbeat)
June 4 – St. Louis, MO – Busch Stadium (also with Volbeat)
June 14 – San Antonio, TX – Alamodome (also with Avenged Sevenfold)
June 16 – Dallas, TX – AT&T Stadium (also with Avenged Sevenfold)
June 18 – Chicago, IL – Soldier Field (also with Avenged Sevenfold)
So, they’re holding a competition for local bands to be able to support Metallica on tour this summer on the shows in which only one support act is joining Metallica.
