A Look At The Netflix Original: Gerard Way’s Umbrella Academy

Get your snacks and blankets ready for a new show to binge watch. 

​The Umbrella Academy is based off a series of graphic novels created from the My Chemical Romance front man himself and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. It follows a dysfunctional family of super heroes and Netflix simply calls it a  “Super. Messed up. Family.”

In his post Wednesday, Way posted a promo picture with the caption:
“Check it out! Super excited that everything keeps moving at an amazing pace for our Netflix Umbrella Academy series!”  

The live-action show is set to feature a packed cast of  actors including: Ellen Page, Mary J. Blige, Tom Hopper, Cameron Britton, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Adam Godley, Aidan Gallagher, Kate Walsh, David Castaneda, John Magaro, Ashley Madekwe and Colm Feore.​

​Umbrella Academy is set to premiere in next year with a 10-episode run.
