Gerard Way’s ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Officially Coming To Netflix

Last week, rumours told us that a show based on comics by Gerard Way might be coming to Netflix.
Today, he posted himself that it is official.
He also told Deadline that he is thrilled that The Umbrella Academy has found a home at Netflix and he couldn’t think of a better place for the vision Gabriel Bá and himself had when creating the comic and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live-action show.
Deadline also gave us the information Netflix has given the live-action series a 10-episode order. Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon) will be executive producer and showrunner on the series, which will come out in 2018 and originated with a pilot script written by Jeremy Slater (The Exorcist).
